It was great to be back post-COVID with our Easter Hat Parade for 2021. The students were extremely excited to display their hats in front of the whole school and showcase their design and construction talents. A big thank you to the parents and carers at home who helped their student put together their ensemble. Thank you also to the canteen who put on a special menu of milkshakes and hot cross buns.
This was the students' first year running the full course and I was extremely proud of their enthusiasm and energy! We celebrate a variety of skills and talents in 2U and it was great to see everyone having a go and giving it their best. A big thank you to Mrs Frost who prepared us beautifully for the day by taking all of Year 2 around the course the day before and taught us how to avoid trip hazards and overtake safely.
In week 9 I had the privilege to meet with you and your child to discuss your child's learning goals for this year and to see their progress in Literacy, Maths and our weekly Spelling/Handwriting Tests. As a result of these meetings I have set up a Google Classroom for 2U which contains some special research topics (eg. Coding, Dinosaurs, Maths to start us off) for the students to engage with if they wish.
These meetings will again be available in Term 2. In Term 2 we will continue to refine our active listening skills (body facing speaker, eyes looking, ready to listen). |
